OlderMeaghan Martin Has 10 Things She Hates About You
Camp Rock star Meaghan Martin will join Lindsay Shaw and Ethan Peck in ABC Family’s series adaption of the hit film 10 Things I Hate About You.
The show will be based off of the movie of the same name that starred Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. But the real story is based off of William Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew.” Meaghan and Lindsay will play sisters who are the exact opposite of each other – Bianca (Meaghan) is a social butterfly and Kat (Lindsay) is a strong-willed feminist.
Ethan Peck, grandson of Hollywood legend Gregory Peck, will play Patrick, a new, mysterious student who frustrates and intrigues Kat from a distance.
Nicholas Braun takes the role of Cameron, another classmate who is head-over-heels for Bianca and Kyle Kaplan will play his friend, Michael.
The new series is expected to debut in 2009.

And to Michelle: “10 Things I Hate About You” was not Heath Ledger’s crowning achievement as an actor. He played roles in more important movies that I doubt he’d care if they base a TV show off of a teen movie he was a part of towards the start of his career.
To Jenna, I really dont care whether it was a big movie for him, its still his movie.

It’s not that I don’t like Meaghan Martin, but I don’t think that ’10 Things I Hate About You’ would work well in series format

No! why ! this is one of my most fav movies of all time…I do not want to see it made into a tv show:( and I agree with Michelle, this is heath movie! Whether or not it was his first or his best this movie should not be turned into a tv show..i know I will not watch it

I think it’s a really good idea for a show.
I don’t understand why they’d even need to make this. Aren’t there plenty of other Shakesperean plays worthy of being converted to TV shows? It reeks of a quick buck to me.
Plus though I’m sure Heath or even Joseph Gordon-Levitt (who I’m a big fan of) would particularly care about this, that’s not the point. The movie is great, it doesn’t need to be forever attached to some no-need show.

I don’t know if the story will work for a TV show but I like Meaghan and am excited to see her in this!
