The 20-year-old Suite Life on Deck sweetheart shared her dreams about acting, school and her favorite foods.
On her psychology dreams: “It works hand-in-hand with my acting. It teaches you why people do certain things, and it helps me get into character. It’s a personal endeavor for me. Education is the one thing that no one can take away from you. It’s what you learn, and what you take from it.â€
On being a role model: “Oh goodness, I hope I can set a good example. If I can do it, anyone can. I’m living my dream every single day.”
On doing what she loves: “Being an actress is difficult. Sometimes they won’t look at you because you don’t have blue eyes and blond hair, and it’s 10 times as hard to get through the door. Sometimes they’re just not looking for an Asian actress. That was difficult when I was younger, but it’s all part of the job. At the end of the day, it makes you a better person. You can’t think of yourself as an Asian American actress. It’s not about what you look like, it’s about what you do … and who you are as a person.”
