The Secret Life of the American Teenager‘s Shailene Woodley and on-screen mom Molly Ringwald hit up The View Friday morning (February 6) to talk about all things teenager.
Shailene, 17, voiced her opinion on what parents should be doing to communicate better with their own teenagers.
She shared, “Be open with their kids. A lot of parents say you’re not allowed to drink, you’re not allowed to parties, and that makes kids want to rebel. I feel like if parents are like, ‘If you’re going to go to a party, and you’re going to drink, then I’ll be here and I’ll pick you up. Call me.’ I think if parents have an open relationship with teenagers, their teenager be more willing to tell them about things.”
