OlderZac Efron: 'It Was Love At First Sight'
Zac Efron bobs his head up and down to Madcon’s “Beggin’” on his iPhone during an interview with Ben Lyons on E‘s Daily 10.
The 21-year-old actor dished to E! on his relationship with on-and-off-screen girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. Zac shared, “I think that at that time, in that environment…it most definitely was [love at first sight]. I’ll never answer that for anyone else…except for Ashley.” (JJJ note: Ashley is the little girl who asked the question.)
Zac also chatted about his decision to not pursue musicals at this time. He said, “I’m not done with musicals. I love them so much. It’s just, at this particular moment, I think it’s time to change it up. I gotta shake things up to keep it interesting for me. I don’t want to be stagnant.”

It’s nice that the two are accepting to be more honest about it. In earlier interviews they would normally not answer or avoid it. It’s nice that they don’t go into detail as it is personal but they are still honest about it.
I have seen an interview with Zac and Thomas Lennon, and Zac says he enjoyed kissing Leslie and hoped for more, then the interviewer mentioned Vanessa leaving him because of the interview and they all laughed as Zac agreed and joked saying ‘we’re done’
Sorry to ramble on I just think it is cute that the two are comfortable by saying this now

i feel like he felt obligated to say yes… but i like that he covered it up with saying “at that time” cause relationships are so much easier when your younger…
but they are perfect together and seem to be holding up well right now (considering all of the traveling) – long distance isnt for me!
Aw..except for Ashley. ..That little girl is so lucky. :D And it’s good that Zachary is taking a break from musicals. It’s nice to see him do something different other than singing and dancing.
I for one will NEVER get sick of Zanessa. Zachary or Vanessa. Never ever ever. I fell in love with both Zachary and Vanessa when I first saw HSM. And I’ve loved them ever since.

He didn’t feel obligated to say anything. He never has before.
He has often said in interviews when he was younger (17) that he wasn’t sure about love at first sight. Now looking back at 21 and still being in a serious relationship with the same person almost 4 years later he realizes that what he felt “at that moment” (when he saw her ) and in that “environment” (the HSM audtion where they met) was indeed love.
Of course he could be talking about when he actually saw her for the very first time at the “Thunderbirds” premiere when he was 15 and and tried to meet her. He told the press at that premiere how much he wanted to work with her.
