The 21-year-old actor dished to the mag about his new flick, 17 Again, his future film career and keeping HSM loot in his trunk. Check it:
On keeping a few HSM posters with him at all times: “I’ve kinda got it figured out. I just pull in to the lot at [a movie studio] and they can’t follow me. The first time I did it, they weren’t going to let me in. The guy at the gate was like, ‘What are you gonna do for me?’ I said, ‘What do you want me to do?’He’s like, ‘I got kids.’ And I was like, ‘Well, I got a poster in the trunk!’ It’s smart to keep some swag in the trunk, just in case.â€
On what’s in stores for his future: “I’m truly ready right now. I can’t wait, dude. I’m going to do something—something cool. Something people aren’t necessarily expecting.”
On working with 17 Again director Burr Steers: “He messed with my head a little bit. There were scenes where I had to be pissed, so he’d be a total a–hole all morning, to make me a little bit on edge. I had no idea what he was doing until after the movie was over. I just thought he was a huge a–hole. But it turns out he’s incredibly smart. He doesn’t just give you what you want to hear and tell you that you’re doing a great job. It’s a different kind of love and support.”
