Miley Cyrus is PETA's Compassionate Citizen

Miley Cyrus has earned PETA‘s Compassionate Citizen Award from the youth division for her love of chickens.

The 16-year-old starlet admitted to taking home a few chickens from the set of her latest flick, Hannah Montana The Movie. Costar Jason Earles shared about Miley‘s snatching: “Miley picked it up thought it was real cute and decided she needed to save this chicken. So she put it in a cardboard box with some pine straw and got her mom to take it home. She is funny with animals ” she was like ‘I have to have that chicken’. She falls in love like you wouldn’t believe.”

Miley‘s heart is as big as her smile,” said Dan Shannon, PETA’s assistant director of Youth Outreach and Campaigns. “We hope that her act of compassion will inspire her fans to be kind to animals too.”

Congrats, Miley!
