Vanessa Hudgens looks breathtaking in a floral top as she chats with EXTRA‘s Tamika about her upcoming movie, Bandslam, on Friday afternoon (April 24)
The 20-year-old actress dished on her character Sa5m, saying, “I only have one song, not a whole bunch. It’s a completely different character. I love Gabriella but my character is a lot more darker, more introverted. She’s very deadpan throughout the whole thing. [She spells her name] S-A-5-M and the 5 is silent. She’s cool like that, it’s how she rolls.”

I agree, JJ, the word is breathtaking. She is just effortlessly stylish and I wouldn’t lie, part of my anticipation for Bandslam promo involves being treated to her amazing sense of style.
I’m so happy she’s getting these amazing opportunities and her sense of gratitude for them. I’m so stoked to see her kicking butt in SP. She had better stock up on ice since it sounds like fight training has started. the girl knows how to keep her mum on her projects.
I also love that she’s so relaxed and just having fun with her roles for now and taking them one at a time. I suspect her strategy is a bit like Shia Lebouf’s, get good action roles, acquire an adult male fan base then take a dramatic role and stretch yourself.
I think that’s smart, she’s just 20 and has time on her side. In between, she can still do some movies that will help her retain her younger fanbase while expanding to tap into the adult audience. She’s doing both by releasing Beastly and Sucker Punch next year.
