Sara Paxton and Ashley Madekwe are loving their new lives — they get to live and breathe all things fashion in The Beautiful Life: TBL.

In the series, Sara, 21, and Ashley star as Raina and Marissa, two models who live with five other up and coming models in New York City. The duo recently sat down with WWD to chat about their new show, their characters and fashion. Check it:

Sara on her character, Raina: “Raina is romantic and whimsical. She loves flowy dresses, boyfriend blazers and men’s wear shoes. She’s not like the other girls; motorcycle boots are as edgy as she gets.”

Ashley on her character, Marissa: “She wants to be different. Whether it’s a Michael Jackson-inspired red leather Alexander McQueen jacket or sky-high, Louboutin ankle boots, anything goes. She’s just never going to be in skinny jeans. She’s the one in the red dress when everyone else is in black. She will always stand out.”

Sara on her fashion know-how: “This is the first time I’ve actually met people in the industry or worn designer clothes. I have never even been to a fashion show. I just can’t even believe I get to live this life without actually living it. I’m super excited to wear awesome clothes and meet amazing people. I knew nothing except for buying magazines at the grocery store.”

Ashley on her love affair with handbags: “I have more Balenciaga handbags than one person should own. I will always sacrifice clothing for the bags.”

The Beautiful Life: TBL premieres Wednesday, September 16 @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.
