Say hello to Maggie Castle, one of the multi-talented stars of the upcoming Starstruck.
Maggie dished to us on her love of wizards, Cat Stevens and AMC’s hit series Mad Men. Check it:
On grooving to old music: “I like older things – this is weird – like I love Cat Stevens and Leonard Cohen and I love The Beach Boys. If I could see any band in history, it would be the Beach Boys. All the original members back from the dead and the guys who are still alive…I’ve been a big fan of theirs. And more recently, Beastie Boys and Death Cab, stuff like that.”
On her love for the fantasy world: “I saw the first one [Twilight movie]. I read the books but I don’t know if the movies are really for me. They’re fun – I prefer Harry Potter, if I’m going to pick…but The Vampire Diaries is a cool new show. Everything’s vampires these days! Nobody cares about wizards anymore.”
On her hopes to guest star on Mad Men: “I have three favorite shows: Mad Men, ’cause I love the look of it and everyone on the show is fantastic; it’s such a different tone! I love Dexter - fantastic, I love that show. And in terms of a fluffier show that I like to watch, Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl‘s such a great show because on that show, that’s a perfect example, to me, of characters that are a bit wacky. Leighton Meester plays Blair Waldorf and it’s fun. They don’t take themselves too serious; even though everyone’s pretty and polished, they still play it kind of wacky.”
Starstruck premieres in February 2010 on Disney Channel. Keep checking back to JJJ soon for more Maggie!
