OlderSelena Gomez: Still A Fan of Selena Quintanilla
Selena Gomez shows off her pearly whites as she sits down on the Wizards set for an interview with LA Fusion earlier this month.
The 17-year-old actress joked with the hostess about her most recent day off. Selena shared, “I had a day off and I went to Marina del Rey. I went jet-skiing for two hours. It was amazing, but I’m paying for it now. I’m sore and my back is killing me (laughs).”
Sel also shared about being named after slain singer, Selena Quintanilla, saying, “Texas as a state is very proud of Selena. My dad and family loved her. So when my mother got pregnant with me, he wanted to name me Selena, after her. As I got older and could understand why I was named after her, I went to go visit her grave and where she used to perform.”

Aww! Selena Q was such a legend! I was to young to really embrace her career at the time she was living. But I’ve done my research on her along time ago. & I love her music & her life is such an inspirational story.
