Major Aly & AJ Michalka News!

Major Aly & AJ Michalka News!

78violet sisters and singers Aly and AJ Michalka just sent out a blast email to all their fans with some major news! Check out what the rocking duo had to say:

“Hey guys…so we know it’s been quiet in the 78violet camp but we want to first off thank you for sticking with us. We have some big news and wanted to make sure you hear it first.

“Now that it’s official, we can tell you we’re no longer a part of Hollywood Records. What does that mean exactly??? Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want. We’re writing and recording new music and are really excited on what’s next. So…what is next? As for the album we recorded for Hollywood, honestly, we don’t foresee it ever being released. But…we are continuing to write and record new songs that we hope you’ll love as much as we do.

“We’re going to be taking the Aly & AJ website down in the meantime which means the current message board will be removed and the accounts you created on the site will be put on hold. Yes…major bummer. But we’ll have a new message board and a new temporary site up in a few days that will serve as our main communication with you for the time being.

“As always, you can get a hold of us on Twitter or Facebook. We love you and are excited to share the new 78violet with you. Xoxo. A+A, 78violet.”

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Aly & AJ’s major news?

Good for them! HR suck, I hope Vanessa Hudgen’s and Corbin Bleu also leave them! They have done nothing good for them!

  • Jana

WTF??? Why is HR letting every good artist down??? First Vanessa Hudgens and now 78Violet??? HR suckks. How long will it take till they do the same with Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and the Jonas Brothers???

I was soo happy that they were doing a new album and now we don’t get to hear it??? I’m pissed of right now. Sorry Guys but I can’t believe it.

I hope Aly & AJ get a new record deal. I love their music and i can’t wait to hear it. Good Luck Girls. :D

  • jo

I think it good for them. I think they wanted out anyway

  • zena

Thank goodness! And I’m so happy for Aly and AJ if this is what they need to succeed creatively. I will definitely be watching out for their new material, as soon as it’s available!

Now if only Demi could wise up and do the same. She has so much more potential than she’s allowed to show for Hollywood, which is more interested in promoting the tween/barely talented brand that sells, even if it is garbage music. She is being wasted, abused, and ridiculed over there, and she needs to realize that her talent deserves so much better.

  • suzy

Yes. Finally they can hopefully get a real record company that will support them 100%.

  • Bethany

Jonas Brothers need to do this too! Musical and creative freedom is the only thing that will make them bigger

  • bridget

It’s about time. I don’t like the longer wait for the material but I am so glad that they’ve severed ties with Hollywood Records. They underpromoted them and censored their best songs. The girls are better off going elsewhere.

  • Jana

I forget to say that it’s the est thing that could happen to them. HR always try to make their artists going that way they want. 78Violet has so much potential. Now they can finally make their music like they want.

And like @zena said, Demi should do the same. She’s the most talented @ Disney and she can do it without them.

  • kami

good move for them to leave hollywood records. they won’t promote anyone except the tweeny idols like the jb, miley and selena.

  • jessica

well its kinda too late for them. if they wanted to have a successful music career they shouldnt have ever signed with them in the first place. same goes to the jonas brothers. they actually have talent but since there with disney, no one takes them seriously. i honestly think this is the biggest mistake the jonas brothers ever made, signing with hollywood records and getting involved with disney.

  • lulu

@jessica: agreed! everyone always talks horrible about the jonas brothers, but they’re so talented! because they’re with disney, people hate them immediately and are so judgemental, but girls, it may be too late, people will still think you’re with disney and not buy your records x x x

  • Yola

    Like them) good luck, girls!

  • Nicholas

Hollywood Records is a trainwreck of a label. It treats there artists like garbage. While short term if you really want new music soon it may suck but for the long term health of 78violet it’s GREAT news. I can’t stress that enough. More music in the long run.

  • Just Interested

good for them no one should sign a record deal with HR they just use people & dump them they only care about their cash cows AKA miley cyrus, demi lovato and jonas brothers which is unfair to the other talented singers

  • Nicholas

Yep, They did the same thing with Evans Blue (when Kevin Matisyn was there lead singer) A great band that they dumped. Then Kevin left the band. But still at the time Evans Blue kicked ass and they dum[ed them.

So this is great long term news for 78violet to get off that trainwreck of a label.

  • Sierra

I think Aly and AJ aren’t part of Hollywood records anymore b/c they were starring in movies and they said a lot of bad words in them.

  • leann

I miss them so much ! I haven’t heard their music in ages.. I remember Disney always played their music, and it’s been almost three years now :( I hope I get to hear new music in the future.

  • hazel

:) I’m glad that they aren’t part of Hollywood records. They were holding them back. I agree that Demi should change labels too but as long as she is under jonas management I dont think she will.
Even though I’m happy this means we have to wait even longer!!!! I just hope they get another record deal soon. Also I wanna here the songs that were with hollywood just in the mean time while we are waiting. I really hope they leak so we can see there effort to break out while with hollywood. I think it would be interesting.

  • Jasmin

HR wouldn’t let them write their own songs?????
By the message they seem happy. but what about their other albums?? we’re they happy about them. we’re they having fun with the songs HR wrote them? No way am i like this!
I hope the music their writing and making is ten times better the HR music!

  • michalkarock

    78violet rock :)
Hope the best for them! <3

  • Jasmine

lol Hilary Duff is always the first one to do something in Disney and other people follow. Hilary also left Hollywood records 2 years ago!

  • liz

hilary wasn’t the first artist signed to hollywood records / the party was they were some kids who were co stars of j.c. , keri and ryan on the mickey mouse club

  • michalkarock

  • Samantha

I’m bummed that I’ll have to wait for an album longer, but stoked that they aren’t on the label anymore! They are growing as artists and HR doesn’t let them write the music they want. I have a feeling Miley’s gonna be gone next. She wants to play more age appropriate songs.. not like songs about her horse and bubblegum pop music. Demi needs to leave too!

All of these girls are talented and kind of have a rock edge to them. And they won’t be judged as harshly because they won’t be on HR. If Miley leaves, then she won’t have to deal with people judging her for pictures she takes with her friends. EVERYONE her age who’s not in the spotlight takes pics like that. They aren’t bad. It’s just the HR image.

Again, I’m super stoked for 78violet! I would sign them without a question if I had a record label! HR didn’t promote their music at all. They never got the support like the others did. You GO 78violet!

Welcome to the adult world outside Disney and Hollywood Records. They will always use these young talented entertainers until they get too old and then jettisome them for more younger talented entertainers.

Aly and AJ will now have to stand on their talents and abilities to make their music work. After hearing them for a few years, I believe they will carve out a successful singing or acting careers. Good Luck to them both.

PS>Hopefully, they didn’t burn their bridges behind them as these companies have long arms.
