OlderSaoirse Ronan: IFTA Lead Actress Winner!
A barefoot Saoirse Ronan holds onto her Irish Film and Television Academy statuette backstage at the 2010 IFTA Awards held at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin on Saturday night (February 20).
The 15-year-old actress beat out Janice Byrne, Amy Kirwan and Jade Yourell for the coveted award for her role in The Lovely Bones.
It was just recently announced that Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana would be joining Saoirse in the upcoming Hanna.
FYI: Saoirse wore a custom designed fuschia dress, bracelet and shoes all by Burberry.

Well said Mark. Even if the Iftas is a small awards show, it is nice that they are doing something in Ireland.
We can at times say the Oscars are a joke because it is all politics at times, and if you don’t campaign and kiss their butts, chances are you don’t win the award.
