OlderJaden Smith: ShoWest Breakthrough Male Star of the Year
Jaden Smith will receive the ShoWest Breakthrough Male Star of the Year Award this Wednesday at the 2010 ShoWest event in Las Vegas.
The 11-year-old actor was just announced as the recipient this afternoon by director Robert Sunshine. He shared, “Jaden Smith is an exceptional young actor who has delivered a true breakout performance with his portrayal of Dre Parker in The Karate Kid. We could not be more excited to honor such a tremendous young talent with the ShoWest Breakthrough Male Star of the Year Award and to be able to share Jaden‘s new movie The Karate Kid with our ShoWest delegates.”
Also to be honored at ShoWest are Katherine Heigl, Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer throughout the week (March 15-18).
Jaden‘s The Karate Kid hits theaters on June 11. Congrats, Jaden!

aww hes so cute. i remember watching him on an episode of suite life. he was so cute and funny in that episode.
He’s adorable. I’m actually REALLY looking forward to The Karate Kid. He’s such a good actor!
If he continues to pursue acting as he grows up, this kid will have some huge shoes to fill.
Breakthru star of the year? Didn’t his movie completely tank? It’s nice to have uber-famous parents i guess.
I hope this movie crashes/burns. Hollywood needs to be sent the message that we don’t need anymore remakes. Especially when this film should have been titled KungFu Kid.
