James Maslow shows off his strength as he climbs up a rope in Santa Monica over the weekend.

The 19-year-old actor currently stars as James in Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush.

James caught up with JJJ recently and dished on just how he learned to tumble: “For me, martial arts and being into sports has helped me to do a lot of things that I can do now. The back flip [in our performances], about eight months ago, I got annoyed that I couldn’t do one. I just went to a gymnastics studio with a buddy of mine and he showed me how.”

He also told us to expect more songs on the show and an album from BTR this summer! We can’t wait!
