OlderJustin Bieber: American Idol Hopeful?
If Usher and Justin Timberlake hadn’t been fighting over Justin Bieber, he may have had Simon Cowell critiquing his style instead.
The 16-year-old musician opened up to MTV about possibly going out for American Idol.
Justin shared, “For sure! You know … we used to watch [the show]. Me and my mom used to watch it when I was little and we were like, ‘I could get on there, you know.’ When I turned 16, I might have went and tried out, but this was faster.”

@jamie: well…. i don’t mean this with disrespect, ok? but he is american. he’s from canada but he is. the word is used wrongly by most people. an american can be from the north, central or south americas. so he’s american, therefore qualified to be on american idol.

This would only give him way more exposure, if it’s possible. Let the unknown taletned people have their chance to shine, okay ? If Justin Bieber’s on AI, these things will happen: 1) He will overshadow a lot of the other contestants. 2) He’s already famous, so if he won, that would be really pointless [since you get a record deal, I think ? Not sure, don't watch the show that often]. 3) All his little fangirls hoping to marry him (which the chances are extremely slim), will vote for him, insted of the other contestants who are probably more talented.

Sure the guy is talented but American refers to people living in the United States. That’s the way the word is used. People from Mexico are Mexican. People from Canada are Canadian. No one is using the word wrong – According to my government issues papers, I am called an American citizen because I live in the United States of America.
