Selena Gomez has a little fun during her photo shoot for London’s Daily Mail news.
The 17-year-old actress dishes on her love for her parents, being linked to almost every teen actor right now and Judy Garland. Check it:
On Mandy and Brian being real parents: “I consult them about everything I do, especially because my mom is my manager. She’s someone who loves me and wants the best for me. So even though I’m living this life and have been given such wonderful opportunities, I still have my parents with me to tell me ‘no.’”
On her love for Judy Garland: “Judy was the whole reason I became a performer. I started to collect her records and the biographies written about her, and I so wish I had met her.”
On dating in Hollywood: “My ideal would be to not be known for who I’m dating, because eventually that’s all you will be known for. It’s hard, because people are curious about who’s in my life, but I want to be known for my work. And I never want to view myself as any different or any better than anyone else. If I wanna go eat at a little restaurant that isn’t fancy, I’ll do it. If I wanna go without make-up and not care what I look like, I will.”

“I don’t want to be known for who i date” is a really good excuse for wanting to keep her private life private. I think people care way too much about who is dating who.

There are so few down to earth, level headed young stars today and that is what makes Selena a breath of fresh air. My 2 favorites are Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift; girls who worked hard to achieve their dreams and have not lost sight of who they are and where they came from. Both girls share another thing in common – great parents who care enough to say no when needed and who are parents and not just friends with their kids – “anyone can be a friend, only the parents can be parent” – paraphrase from a quote of Denise Jonas – guidepost magazine – May 2010. (ps my other favorites are The Jonas Brothers)

I love her seriously. . .I would always get annoyed when she wouldn’t admit to who she is dating but I totally get her now, seeing what happened with Demi/Joe that’s all people wanted to know about when they admitted to dating, and sharing to many detail no wonder they didn’t last.
so props to Selena Gomez for staying true to herself :)

So she DID date Nick haha. but I guess we’ll never know for sure because she’ll never talk about, and I think it’s best we leave it like that. This girl seriously knows what she’s doing. I applaud her

Its NOBODY business to know who’s Selena dating as long as she is HAPPY :) I love Selena for her work and NOT for her personal life. She doesn’t need drama, scandals or a famous boyfriend to be recognize. Sorry if your fav celeb needs that to stand out ;)

she’s very wise and so mature for her age. finally, someone in this business who actually makes sense and speaks the truth. this is why i love selena.
