Taylor Swift is a Starlight Songwriter

Taylor Swift snaps a pic with gal pal Lily Collins as they arrive at the 2010 Songwriters Hall of Fame Ceremony at The New York Marriott Marquis in NYC on Thursday evening (June 17).

The 20-year-old singer was honored with the Hal David Starlight Award which honors recipients who are gifted songwriters who are at an apex in their careers and are making a significant impact in the music industry via their original songs.

Hal David said of Taylor, “Taylor Swift is one of the brightest musical talents to emerge in recent years, and represents the true epitome of the Starlight Award. She possesses an undeniable talent as a songwriter, expressive singer and performer, and we are proud to present her with this well-deserved honor.”

FYI: Taylor wore a soft purple J Mendel dress with a Ban.do headband. She completed her look with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Christian Louboutin heels.
