Jackson Rathbone: Last Airbender 2?

Jackson Rathbone: Last Airbender 2?

Jackson Rathbone gives two thumbs up as he attends a photo call for The Last Airbender at the Villamagna Hotel in Madrid, Spain on Tuesday morning (July 13).

The 25-year-old actor was joined by costars Dev Patel, Nicola Peltz and director M. Night Shyamalan.

M. Night recently caught up with MTV on his plans for the Airbender series, saying, “”I do [have scripts for sequels]. The third is more ambiguous, but the second one, I’ve written a draft that I’m really happy with and is darker and richer, and it has a wonderful antagonist in it in Azula, who’s kind of like our only real, pure antagonist in the series, so I’m excited about that.”

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE a sequel to The Last Airbender?

NO! That movie was awful. M Night is a horrible director and writer.

The tv series is awesome. I own all three seasons on dvd. Go watch it instead of the movie

YES!!!! I love the show and I just want to see the other movies…as long as they have endings that are just as climactic (and awesome) as the first one:-)

I really want to see a sequel. I di NOT want to leave ATLA on a bad note. Yes, the first movie was rushed and not the best. But M Night can learn from his mistakes and make the second and third one better.

So Yes!

I would see Last Airbender 2 only if they get a new director. M.Night ruined a great story.

Haven’t seen it but I can’t imagine something being horrible. I’m not over dramatic so that wouldn’t be how I would describe a movie that I wouldn’t go to again. I think if there was a initial draw then horrible can’t be used.

The “The Last Airbender” could have been a little better but with that said I still enjoyed the movie. I would like to see another one in the future. The Nickelodeon animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender were amazing.

I’ll go see it if it has a better director and writer(and I guess that’s not going to happen).

NO! We don’t want a darker movie! The first was way too “dark’” , seriously if the second is like that, i’m not going to see it!

I would like to see it only because I love the show.
The first only had bad acting…. other than that I liked it :)
I HOPE THEY DO TWO AND FINISH THE SERIES
:)

I think the movie was to serious it lacked the humor and charisma that makes the animated series so captivating. If there is a second movie I would like to see the dialog be more natural and humorus. A darker movie will NOT please the fans of this show. I hope m night takes a lesson from the feedback of the fans and critics and lightens up. the filming was pretty but the script was deff lacking.

Haven’t M. Night Shyamalan listened to any of the comments about the movie?

Nickelodeon have a serious problem with this movie. It just doesn’t have anything in common with the tv show, all the things that I like of the tv show aren’t in the movie. If they want to make the second movie they need to do the first again. It’s so disappointing to such a horrible movie based in such an amazing tv show.

Hell no!!! They need to replace the director and allow someone else to write for the sequels. He really ruined this series and the hopes of alot of children. That may sound dramatic, but it’s true. So many kids were disappointed; not to mention the people that grew up watching the show and were really excited for the movie only to get a piece of crap.

Apparently not for career film critics and TV show fans who can’t handle a few changes in this 90+ minute movie adaptation of the the multi-hour first season of the TV show (“They changed the pronunciations!!! Noooo!!!”) – or the people that actually enjoyed the film! To be fair, I’m not sure that Star Wars or Star Trek purists would hate any changes to their beloved mythology, but this ardent fan of the TV show and of the film industry thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Sure, “The Last Airbender” wasn’t perfect, but the same is true of the much-loved original Star Wars trilogy. Yes, sequels would be most welcome.

@enjoyedthismovie:

Minor correction:

“To be fair, I’m not sure that Star Wars or Star Trek purists would hate any changes to their beloved mythology,”

should read as

“To be fair, I’m not sure that Star Wars or Star Trek purists would love any changes to their beloved mythologies,”

I am really looking forward to another movie….I agree it was a little disappointing but I have hight hopes that they will learn form thier mistakes and make the next one better……PLEASE put some of the humor that Aang and Sokka have into the movies…they are a great part of the series!!

NICNIC @ 2:45 am on 07/15/2010

Not if M. Night has anything to do with it! He is so full of himself that HE can’t understand that he insulted the fans of the series and disrespected the source material. I understand that it was a lot of material to condense, but it has been done before (Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter). If he stuck to the same standards that the creators did, maybe the fans would have been a little more forgiving of some of the changes he made, but he didn’t. The only reason it made as much money as it did was 1) 4th of July weekend & not many choices of movies 2) fans waited so long to see the film 3) bad reviews made the fans so curious that they had to see the film for themselves. If the second part comes out I will probable wait for Redbox if I see it at all. It’s such a shame.

Wao! Strong opposition i ever see. I will go see the next part even if it daker than the first one but i think the next series will be better. Common the kid plays Aang i’m sure he will act more emotions in the next Airbender Movie
