Zac Efron is all smiles as he conducts a few interviews in Marina del Rey, Calif., on Saturday afternoon (July 17).
The 22-year-old Charlie St. Cloud actor will be heading to St. Louis, Missouri NEXT Wednesday, July 21 to premiere his flick with the winner of the nationwide hometown screening contest — Emily Johnson.

@nicci: They did the samething with Dear John and it did perfecly fine at the boxoffice, infact it was #1.

they most certainly did not. Dear John had basically one promo that was repeated and another that was shown sporatically.
Also Dear John didnt have 30+ prescreenings in fact I cant think of a movie in recent history that had 10. Its too much.
I’m going cause its Zac but my excitement is and has been waning.

I think they are just trying desperately to promote it because it was so late in the game that they began promoting. They didn’t think it was going to come out until October, remember? I think they’re getting an excellent buzz for it though.

I still wish Vanessa’s new movie was coming out in two weeks as well. I am angry we have to wait until March to get ONE V movie. At least they both come out in the same month, Sucker Punch and Beastly.

Therefore they can’t sit outside her house like they have been doing for years.

i just really need 2 know! i read the book and tess was a ghost in the book! from the way it looks, it seems as if she’s living flesh! plus, is charlie ill or something? well, not ill but is he really seeing sam or hallucinating?
With all respect, to those of you saying they give too much of the story away, I assume you have not read the book. If the movie has a similar plot to the book, I can assure you, you don’t know the whole story. :)
People are being a bit over dramatic here. Think of it this way. IF the movie was still scheduled to be out in October all these “Teasers” would have been spread out over the next few months. Because of the change in date you are now getting 3/4 months promotion in a number of weeks. Universal are doing NOTHING different then how they normally promote a movie except for doing it in a much smaller time frame.
As for the pre-screenings all movies have these, you just need to know where to look to find the info. The reason the info is so readily available for this promotion trailer is because of who is promoting it. Zac is hot property in Young Hollywood right now and everyone’s waiting to see what it does next. Any publicity this movie gets will be good for the movie at the box office.
Some of you that post on here moaned a couple of months ago when there was nothing about Charlie St Cloud and now that there is tons of stuff out about it your moaning again. I guess some people arn’t satisfied unless there is something to moan about.
@Katty: The reason JJ hasn’t posted them is because of the rumour that going round most of the vanessa sites. The pics are in actual fact old. If she is in fact rehearsing for Rent like we all have assumed, then their is no reason for her to be exiting a trailer. When rehearsing for theatre you use rehearsal space. It may be at the theatre or it maybe somewhere else. If its at the theatre she will have been assigned a dressing room. If its at a general rehearsal space (think dance rehearsals for HSM) then she will just crash in the room where the rehearsals are taking place. No trailer would be needed.
My theory is this may have been for advertising campaign for one of the deals she has. Or it may have been from when she was watching her friend shoot her music video. Also the Rent rehearsals are obviously not in full swing yet as some of the other cast are still working in other countries on various projects.
I have watched the pre-screening of this movie, and believe me, the trailers are not spoiling it for you. I agree that the book is much deeper and richer but the movie version is just as good. The emotional connection between all the characters are believable, and everyone did an amazing job.
And Annie, if you have read the book as you said you have, Charlie has the gift to see the souls hovering or departing to the next level. Tess as a spirit or a real flesh, is the dramatic highlight of the movie – so I won’t spoil it. Just be patient – its coming out soon in the US and Canada cinemas.
You can not even start to imagine how wrong that title sounds to me?? Well.. not wrong if you get what I mean
