Ashley Tisdale: Cheerleaders ARE Athletes

Ashley Tisdale keeps it cute, cool and comfy as she heads back to her car after an afternoon at her parents home in Toluca Lake, Calif., on Sunday (August 1).

The 25-year-old actress and costar Aly Michalka opened up about their characters on Hellcats at the panel late last week.

Aly, 21, shared, “It was a cool coincidence [that we both came from music], but it was mostly something where we happened to be right for these roles and happened to fight for them really hard. Cheerleaders are badass, they’re athletes.”

Ashley added about Savannah, “Savannah is a lot less selfish than Sharpay. She’s the team captain, she’s a team player. She’s been in her own little bubble that Marti pulls her out of; she’s naive, she’s Christian, the pair of them grow together.”

Aly agreed, adding, “There’s this connection that the two characters have — what pulls them together is their passion for what they love; in Marti’s case it’s law, in Savannah’s it’s the nationals and her team.”
