OlderCamp Rock 2 The Final Jam: 8 Million Viewers Strong!
Camp Rock and Camp Star had the ultimate battle — which worked in their favor — pulling in 8 million viewers on Friday night (September 3) on Disney Channel.
Although it didn’t beat reigning champion High School Musical 2, the TV movie ranked as TV’s No. 1 Labor Day weekend telecast ever among Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14.
Here’s what’s happening for the rest of the weekend:
Saturday, September 4:
– The Rock Along edition of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam invites viewers to sing along to the songs. Lyrics will be visible on screen and at DisneyChannel.com.
Sunday, September 5:
– Disney Channel presents the Sunday Dance Jam edition of Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam @ 8PM ET/PT. Hosted by Demi Lovato and Jonas Brothers, it gives viewers a look at the making of the spectacular dance scenes.
Monday, September 6
– Encore presentation of Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
Tuesday, September 7
– Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam: Extended Edition ON DVD! The Blu-ray and DVD will featuring two exclusive new music numbers — “Walking in My Shoes” and “Different Summers”

Even with all that promoting, they still couldn’t beat even the first CR! I just hope they don’t make a 3rd and release it into theaters, cuz that would be LAME! HSM>>>>>>>>CR.

There was a heavy load of promotion on the Disney Channel for Camp Rock 2 for a LONG time. Yet, it didn’t beat the original Camp Rock.
This is wrong, I think. I heard that Camp Rock 2 had between 15.2 and 15.8 million viewers friday night….which honestly sounds right to me.

I think it’s the stupidest thing in the world to release a DVD like 4 days after it actually premiers. What is Disney thinking these days? As somebody already said they are milking it waaaay too much. They think that they can come up with some mediocre high school musical- like movie and expect it to top a phenomenon like high school musical. In my opinion I’m soooo happy that the Jonas brothers are losing their star power. Finally fangirls are coming to their senses. They can’t act and their music is god awful. They’re not even that cute anymore, which was how they got more than half of their fanbase. Now all we have to do is get rid of justin bieber. He’s an even bigger joke than these guys! Lol

haha. this is a complete fail, considering how much they promoted the damn movie. disney wasted big bucks promoting this. they’re a bunch of money hungry idiots. they’ll probably do a 3rd movie, since they consider the first one a “success” for some reason. this one had 1 million LESS than the flop of a first. that’s BAD.
the jobros have faded. and demi doesn’t have huge star power to pull in tons of viewers. i don’t believe any disney movie or any tv movie for that matter will be coming close to even touching HSM2′s 17.4 million viewers for a LONG time.
hopefully this gives them the clue that CR3 would be a terrible idea. they’re not gaining money from this franchise, they are losing it.
i am surprised it did as bad as it did though. i thought it would’ve at least gotten 12 mil tops. but 8 million? pshh, so much for that 15.8 million crap jonas fans are BSing about.

That is pathetic. They started promoting this movie in January. They spent all summer advertising it with the ‘It’s On’ commercials, the road to Camp Rock 2, the tour, Jemi. And all they have to show for it is 8 million viewers. That’s better than most DCOMs, but horrible considering how much time, effort and money was put into the damn thing. It actually did worse than the first one. Looks like the Jonas Brothers are loosing their touch.

High School Musical will always be the best! Camp Rock 2 is a rip-off of it. Seriously, CR2 “This is our summer, and HSM3 “This is our year,” it’s practically the same line. The song “It’s On” reminds you of “All For One” and “Can’t Back Down” reminds you of “Work It Out.”
Disney needs to be more original. Demi can do better than CR2. The JoBros on the other hand should just quit acting AND singing.
