Taylor Swift: I'm Not Bulletproof

Taylor Swift looks out into the crowd after performing on stage during the Grand Ole Opry 85th birthday bash held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on Saturday night (October 9).

The 20-year-old “Speak Now” singer opened up to MTV recently about the song she penned to Kayne West. She shared, “I think a lot of people expected me to write a song about [West]. But, for me, it was important to write a song to him. It doesn’t really add anything good if I start victimizing myself and complaining about things. Because I’m proud of that performance at the VMAs last year, where my fans helped me get through it.”

Taylor added, “And there was a lot that went down backstage that I will always be thankful for, and the fans in the subway know exactly what happened that night. I feel everything. I’ve never had this thick skin that can’t be… It’s not like I am bulletproof in any sense of the word.”

I wish people would stop asking her about it. It’s done and over.
It sucked, but in retrospect, it’s extremely insignificant in comparison to everything else that has been happening in her life.

Get over it, no one likes you. Generic, basic song writer. All your music sounds the same.

  • Fearlessli

I love her. She is such an amazing and honest person and I feel like she’s the star who does the most for her fans. She’s not afraid to let her feelings out and, hate on her music all you want, you can’t deny how much class that girl has.

  • danni

She is victimizing herself by continuing to talk about it a year later. Nobody cares! Let it go! Concentrate on that mediocre music and make it better so you actually deserve to win the awards you’ve gotten.

Taylor swift really should let it go. It is not humble or honest to be proud of an off-key and non joyful singing alive from a professional musician singer. A mature and true artist and person can take honest criticism to get better.

What Kanye did was hardly honest criticism. And she hasn’t talked about it all that much. She does long interviews and the media just harp on the Kanye bits that’s not her fault. Her new song is really good.

@wahwah, @fan, @danni …she is not victimizing herself! she’s just explaining what the song is about. she was just answering the questions. she didn’t say that randomly duh! it’s not her fault that she was questioned blame the interviewer and the media. there’s so many times that she just ignored them bec they kept asking her about him. stop the hate. don’t comment like you know her.

her new songs are brilliant and i can’t wait to buy the new album.

I believe Taylor doesn’t want to be a career killer. Don’t forget it was West who stood on stage a few years back and complained when he didn’t win an award, “Why can’t they give it to a black man?” 50 cent won the award and he is black Kanye West you racist dope West!

Taylor’s song for Kayne is a sellout. Shame shame. He ain’t an innocent kid.

And go back folks and look at the original tape. Note the look on Beyonce’s face. Ouch! Smiling and wild-eyed. Beyounce did Taylor a solid but had to be coached to do it. Taylor has a coach too.

Taylor. You have a life-sized bird cage in the center of your home. It is YOUR cage. And the telescope in the cage is you; looking at the stars, gazing out at the world but living in a shield. It’s my world kid but you will never live in it or understand while in the cage.

Got a kick when John Mayer and Taylor were grooming. Reports Taylor was on his lap. Days later Mayer said he was the only person who could use the “N” word. Within 24 hours Taylor’s mom lashed out, “Taylor has to stop dating boys and focus on her music.” Control agents. Ouch!! A Don Imus moment.
