DH was AMAZING!! I can’t wait to see it again! Who cares about midnight records? DH still has the 3rd highest midnight gross, but the main thing that counts is the quality of the film (which was brilliant) and the overall gross (which will no doubt cross the 1 billion mark or come pretty close).

@3niefronhudgie: I totally agree with you! The Harry Potters are simply well-written (AWESOMELY well-written), whereas Twilight is a bit amateur-ish. And, come on, a clumsy emotional girl who depends on a guy for her to live happily? SO demeaning to women! Even though Meyer is a woman herself, she could learn a lot from Hermione. ;)
..Does there really have to be some competition on what movie makes more ? Geez. Who cares. We all know what movie has amazing actors and a great plot. HARRY POTTER FOR THE WIN !! That’s only because DH Part 1 premiered at midnight when there’s school the next day. Harry Potter fans are actually smart enough not to watch a two-and-a-half-hour film at midnight and then be completely hungover at school the whole day.
Besides, who really cares about midnight screenings? At the end of it all, DH Part 1 will make barrels more than the $690M that Eclipse made. It always does. The lowest-selling HP film (Prisoner of Azkaban) earned more than the highest-selling Twilight film (New Moon). Fact.
@TWILIGHTLOVER: And what exactly is it that you hate about Harry Potter? I want specific answers. I have yet to find someone who has read both the Twilight books and the Harry Potter books and then thought Twilight was in any way better.

twilight being the lesser franchise and made on a smaller budget still manages to surpass harry potter in opening sales- what an embarrasment for the potter brigade-
and ofcourse HARRY POTTER overall will make more money coz isnt there like 8 films!!! and its obvious that the gross profit of 8 movies made on that scale will surpass the gross profit of all the twilight movies- HOWEVER made on such a small budget twilight sure do make a heck of alot MORE profit per movie
Are you guys ******* kidding me? Sure, Twilight is good at the beginning. When you get sick of Edwards pansy-ass smile and Bellas none-emotional face THEN you can compare these books and movies. I used to love Edward as well, then he got to cheesy. Seriosly, to say that Twilight is better than Harry Potter is just wrong.
twilight will be 5 movies. harry potter has 8. obviosly harry potter is gonna do better considering it has more movies. harry potter rocks and twilight rocks also ( twilight is addicting, but harry potter is just better in my opinion). thats all. end of discussion… BUT THE HARRY POTTER MIDNIGHT SHOWING WAS AWESOME!
