OlderElle Fanning Finds A 'Pure Life'
Elle Fanning keeps her body warm in a puffer jacket as she leaves ballet class in Los Angeles with her dad on Friday afternoon (January 7).
It was just announced that the 12-year-old Somewhere actress will star alongside Vera Farmiga in Pure Life.
Elle will play 13-year-old Maya Donovan, who desperately wants a romance like the kind in the Brat Pack movies. Mired in poverty with her brutally hard-working and short-tempered mother Trisch (Farmiga), Maya goes looking for a teen romance and finds a bad boy she deems worthy of taking her virginity.

Maybe it’s just not fair to always see her as merely in the shadow of big sis, Dakota. Elle handles these heavy roles, aptly in her own right. Congratulations on the new project, Elle. Time to take you more seriously.

Wow, yes, in todays society, girls begin thinking of losing their virginity early on. Shame…although this sounds like a good movie….I hope there will be a moral to this story to get all the tweens to thinking.
@sarina: Dunno what kind of film it is, probably not Disney, but it sounds like a breakout role for Elle.
I’ll refrain from pointing out that her big sister proved her grit by weathering storms of criticism, because now Elle is showing her stuff, she doesn’t need any boost from that comparison.
It is acting. Like when a straight person plays a homosexual on film, it doesn’t mean they are really gay. Or like when Chloe Moretz played a hit girl, it doesn’t mean she’s a real killer.
I remember in the 5th Grade, when I first learned that there are other religions than the one I am a member of. What an awakening that was. What a surprise.
