OlderLily Collins: Alex Pettyfer for Jace Wayland? Maybe
Lily Collins has a huge year coming up!
The 21-year-old actress recently sat down with MTV to chat about not only her role in Abduction opposite Taylor Lautner, but also about her new role as Clary Fray in Mortal Instruments. Check out what she had to say:
On her role in Abduction: “I’m extremely proud. This was my biggest role to date. Of course I was nervous. Especially because there was so much action and all those stunts and I’m trying not to fall when I’m going through rivers at 4:30 in the morning. There was so much going on, and every single emotion you can think of we had to go through in the span of 30 seconds because so much happens too quickly. From what I’ve seen, I’m thrilled.”
On scoring the lead in Mortal Instruments: “That is going to be a whole new world for me. When I found out I was cast, I found out that people were tweeting about me getting cast as their heroine. I know that I’m playing a character in a book that is very popular, but I forget that books have so many fans, that if they don’t agree with the casting, it could go terribly wrong. I was so grateful that all these people were tweeting like, ‘Oh, we’re so excited. We totally see her as Clary, and we can’t wait to see what she’ll do.’ I don’t know what I would have done if people responded negatively.”
On who she thinks should play Jace: “A lot of the fans has been tweeting that [they want] Alex Pettyfer. I don’t know the process. He’s also going to have a great 2011. The fans of a series like this have such a strong opinion on who they feel would be great as a character, and I feel that’s very backed up because they know the characters in and out. I trust a lot of the fans in their opinions. I don’t know if there are going to be auditions or anything. I’ve heard Logan Lerman thrown out for Simon.”

Noooooo. Why are they even making this into a movie series? It’s probably gonna ruin it. You just cannot cast Jace right, like Edward, he is uncastable.
I think Logan would make an awesome Simon, and they’re both Jewish too! And they’re BOTH in a band, they are so similar.
they are making the movie for real?!?!?!! I hope they dont ruine it *crossing fingers* well..I agree with alex pettyfer as jayce but logan as simon?!?!!? nop! I just dont see it :S

Love the books, I’m SO excited for the movies, but they better do a darn good job.
And I like what @Katty said. JACE IS UNCASTABLE, but Alex Pettyfer comes REAAAAL close. :)

Well I been saying for the longest Alex Pettyfer would make a great Jace Wayland and I could totally see Logan Lerman as Simon. I’m just so excited this is being made in to a movie!
Simon Lewis – brown hair, wears glasses, cute dork, throws out funny one-liners, has a band, laidback style mostly tshirts, Jewish
Logan Lerman – dark brown hair, has photos where he wears glasses, hilarious in a comedic role in Meet Bill, wears mostly tshirts and plaid shirts, in a band called Indigo, Jewish

Im really happy Lily gost cast as Clary and she is getting more roles, she is a great little actress and a beautiful young woman!. Can’t wait to see her new roles. I think Alex Pettyfer should be Jace, he looks likes the character and he is a gorgeous too. :D

Collins is Clary totally cool with that since I found out…. Alex Pettyfer and they can start roling (and you cast the rest of the cast )…but i know Alex has a busy year and i think he has another project but com’ on he can totally make it work is Jace, is City of Bones, Cassandra Clare.
Logan Lerman for Simon sorry i read the books no, his cool but i dont see Simon. just saying.
well, i don’t know if i really like Llly Collins for Clary because she is pretty yeah but CLARY is like skinny and redhead and green eyes, how should i expected Lilly doing it, i just don’t get it, BUT Alex Pettyfer will do a excellent Jace he’s hilarious just like Jace and Alex is hot so i totally see him as Jace, and Logan I see him like Simon too. :)
i only hope that they don’t ruin the movie like twilight. cross fingers

ALEX for JACE OF COURSE!!!!!! no doubt about that. Lilly works well for Clary but Im not sure that their choice for Simon is the best. I pictured him to be little bit more geeky

I also believe that Alex P would be a good choice for Jace and Logan L for Simon, however Clary is a huge part of this series and i feel it would be best if the actress who played her also had the short, redheaded-ness going on.
OMG i luv the books and i think Alex and Lily r perceft for the roles of Jace and Clary! i hope they make the movie accurate!
I think that Alex would be good for Jace but really its going to be hard to find someone exactly like him. The problem with Collins is that she doesn’t have red hair or green eyes. I always thought that Simon would be a little bit more geeky.

Simon should have been played by a real Jew, Logan Lerman, and not by Robert Sheehan.
