Lily Collins: 'Romeo & Juliet' Pushed Back a Bit

Lily Collins is a new Juliet…but just when will we see her as Juliet?

The 21-year-old actress isn’t sure.

Lily tells MTV, “They came to me last year with the script—it’s based in the Renaissance period—and they wanted me to play Juliet,” she said. “I’ve been a huge Shakespeare fan ever since I could read. For me, it was a dream role.”

She continued, “I’m still attached as Juliet. With everything else that comes up, if that’s not set to go, then that gets pushed. It’s still there and I hope it does work out.”

TELL JJJ: Who would you cast as Lily’s Romeo?

Nooo she can’t act. And she’s too old she’s 21 and Juliet was two weeks away from her 14th birthday. Maximum age should be 18. She doesn’t even look the part. Juliets suppoesed to be the picture of youth and innocence. I hope it doesnt happen. At least not with her. And pleeaase for God’s sake do NOT aim it at the twilight audience. Am I the only 14 year old girl that thinks Twilight is a load of rubbish? Oh, and shes got an American accent so she’ll butcher the lines. SHAKESPEARE was written in REAL ENGLISH.
