Older'The Hunger Games' To Release in 2012!
“The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins is getting all sorts of buzz — good buzz, that is.
The book is set in post-apocalyptic America, Hunger Games introduces 16-year-old heroine Katniss Everdeen, who must participate in a fight-to-the-death annual event called the Hunger Games. The battles are televised, and pit youths from each of the Capitol’s 12 Districts against each other.
Lionsgate has announced a release date for the film — March 23, 2012! Hopefully we’ll hear casting news soon!
Among the names being considered for lead Katniss are Kaya Scodelario, Lyndsy Fonseca and Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld. Even Liam Hemsworth has expressed his interest.
Pretty Little Liars‘ Shay Mitchell is also a fan of the book series.

No Liam Hemsworth! He’s way too old! Kaya looks great! I don’t like Hailee Steinfeld for Katniss she’s too young, doesn’t look like her and just wouldn’t work! Elle fanning would make a great primrose! Oh and if any twilight cast members are in this film I am BOYCOTTING it!

From a teenagers point of view Hailee would be the best pick for katniss. Even though shes younger then 16. The other two look too old. Second choice would be Kaya. NOT LIAM! HE IS NOT A GOOD FIT FOR PEETA! They need a young looking cast for these movies not 20 something year olds playing teenagers.
I totally agree! Kaya Scodelario would be the perfect Katniss! I’ve thought of Abigail Breslin to be her sister, Prim, but I don’t know a good person to be Peeta… I’ll think about it.
