OlderSelena Gomez has '13 Reasons Why'
Selena Gomez will not only star in the film adaption of Jay Asher‘s novel 13 Reasons Why, but her July Moon Productions company will also be producing.
The 18-year-old will star as Hanna Baker in the screen version of the book, Deadline reports.
13 Reasons Why summary: A shy California high school student who returns from school to find a box waiting on his doorstep. It contains seven cassette tapes recorded by Hanna Baker, the classmate he had a crush on. Before she committed suicide, Hanna sent the tapes to one classmate with instructions to pass them on to a list of students like a chain letter. The tapes explain to 13 people how they played a role in her death.

Love this book! Hopefully the film will be just as good, It’s quite dark so I hope Sel can play that ♥

I have read the book and i think that selena will be thwe perfect role. Its also good for her to do a role that isn’t just happy and that it has some depth to it
All in all Disney best actress right now is Selena, and although many ppl wont like the fact that a Disney girl got this role. The decision has been made, and if you seen on Jay Asher blog he known Selena for quite some time and love her personally. I’m excited to see if she does this amazing book justice. I think Selena will do great for this movie.
I think it’s great her company is producing it and she is branching out. But I am not sure about her being in the movie. I have read the book and I don’t see her fitting the role, hopefully I will be presently surprised.
Having read the book I have to say this is a very interesting and bold choice for Selena. This is very heavy materal and total departure from everything she’s done up until now which I’m sure is the point. I will be interested in how this movie shapes up because the way the book is structured isn’t exactly film friendly. But I am definitely interested.

thank god its not a nicolas sparks movie i hate his movies but this book i actualy read my ex girlfriend had it and she recomended to me in my view its a creepy book if this become a movie hope for a horror movie its a must read book and hopefuly a must see movie.
That sounds absolutely amazing. Wow, but it won’t start filming until AFTER Wizards and Wizards the Movie 2 wraps at the end of the year. =[

The premise of the book makes me think the main character is whiny and conceited. (Who the heck blames and guilt-trips other people for their own actions?)

Please cast Logan Lerman as the shy guy Clay Jensen who finds the tapes. He’s perfect for the part and is one of selena’s favorite actors
