OlderNick Jonas: Carnival For A Cure!
Nick Jonas speaks on stage as he attends the 2011 Carnival For A Cure held at the Metropolitan Pavilion on Sunday afternoon (March 13) in New York City.
The 18-year-old musician accepted a plaque from the Diabetes Research Institute.
“In 2007, we were fortunate to have the Jonas Brothers perform at Carnival for a Cure. Nick silenced the crowd when he divulged for the first time that he has type 1 diabetes. From that moment forward, he sensitized millions of teens and parents to the disease and the need to find a cure,†said event co-chair Carolyn Goldfarb in a statement.

As a diabetic I really appreciate all the work he has done to help educate and raise awareness about diabetes. He is a great spokesperson and it is incredible the amount of impact he has had in just the four short years since he announced his diagnosis.
You are an inspiration to us all!
I hope someone posts a video of his speech. Several people on twitter said it was very inspirational. He’s such a down-to-earth guy who seems to truly care about the message he is delivering.
PBS aired the 25th Anniversary Concert for “Les Miserables” that was recorded last year in which Nick performs as Marious, and I have to say I was extremely impressed he did what I thought was a fantastic job. When he went to London to perform in the show on the West End I was skeptical. But to see him perform so well in something that wasn’t connected to the “Jonas Media Machine” was a pleasant surprise. This kid seems to be the real deal.
