Nina Dobrev enjoys the 2011 Coachella Music Festival over the weekend with her Vampire Diaries costar Ian Somerhalder in Indio, Calif.

It was just announced late last week that the 22-year-old actress has joined The Perks of Being A Wallflower.

Nina will be playing the role of Candace opposite Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Mae Whitman.

Perks summary: Charlie goes through a veritable bath of bathos in his 10th grade year, 1991. The novel is formatted as a series of letters to an unnamed “friend,” the first of which reveals the suicide of Charlie’s pal Michael. On top of dealing with the suicide, he has the rest of typical adolescent problems–sex, drugs, the thuggish football team–and they perplex him in the usual teen TV ways.
