The Hunger Games: Meet Thresh & Rue!

The Hunger Games: Meet Thresh & Rue!

The Hunger Games have found it’s tributes from District 11.

EW reports that Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg have nabbed the roles of Thresh and Rue.

The two will star opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson as they compete for the right to live.

The Hunger Games, based on the book by Suzanne Collins of the same name summary: In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games where 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch.

Keep up with casting on Facebook!

I honestly didn’t like the casting of Katniss, Peeta, or Gale, but I can definately see these two as Rue and Thresh. :)

Great casting! Can’t wait to see who they cast as Haymitch and Effie.

These two are PREFECT! The casting directors did this one right. And why the hell they didn’t do Katniss, Peeta, and Gale right?

Awesome, that’s exactly how I pictured Thresh :) And I think Amandla can definitely pull off Rue.

Rue is the first casting I genuinely like.
Katniss and Thresh are okay, but Peeta and Thresh disappointed me.

Who cares if she’s black, she’s adorable, i bet the people who held the audition were like ” okay next … *she comes in* … yeah okay she’s cute, we’re done here. That’s a wrap people, lets head out!” … and thresh is decent, as long as he’s huge and ripped, that’s all that matters.

Nah, Thresh and Rue are definitely black – it says so in the book. I think everyone in the district is meant to be black or almost everyone :)

Perfect choices, I can see them as Rue and Tresh :)
My problems with the casting of Katniss, Peeta and Gale is that they don’t really look like their characters. I mean, thank god for hairdye! I’ll get really pissed if they don’t dye their hair! The looks are really important to us fans.
And honestly, I think Jennifer looks a bit too old for Josh.

oh lol okay sorryy
my teacher read it to my class, so i probably just didnt hear her or something.

and ahaha for a review of the series, some people loved them, some hate them.
also, i find, the first book is the best, followed by the second, and the third book the worst.

I think Rue is great. I always pictured Thresh, Katniss, Gale, Peeta, and Cato to be a bit younger. It said from ages 12-18 and they aren’t in that range. They just don’t seem to fit as well. I think they could’ve done better. But that’s just my opinion. :)
