OlderDemi Lovato: 'I Have Bipolar Disorder'
Demi Lovato has revealed that she’s been struggling with bipolar disorder.
The 18-year-old entertainer told People, “I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar….Looking back it makes sense. There were times when I was so manic, I was writing seven songs in one night and I’d be up until 5:30 in the morning.â€
After treatment, though, Demi said, “I feel like I am in control now where my whole life I wasn’t in control.â€
FYI: Bipolar disorder is when people experience major – and often abrupt – mood shifts where they’ll go from having an elevated or excited mood, called “mania,” to having feelings of depression.

Wow, this kid had it rough. Glad she got that help she needed. And more importantly I am glad she finally left the Mouse House!

I have Bipolar too and I know how she feels. I hope she learns how to cope with it like I did. It’s really hard. I have anxiety & I had depression too x
@Bridgit She has not left the Mouse House, why do you keep on saying that? She’s left the show but she’s still signed with Hollywood Records. And she’s most likely left Jonas Management, rumors of which had been going around even before the tour.
WOW!!! I didn’t know that. She is such a brave young woman for coming forth and telling people. I can’t wait until her music comes out. She is a really talented person.

for everything shes been through its a miracle shes turning out to be such a strong woman…18 and to be bipolar is so tough and on top of that to have an eating disorder…ive always liked demi and knowing that shes getting better day by day…she is an amazing talented beautiful girl and i am going to be a lifelong fan
It must be very difficult, I feel very bad because I really care and love Demi with all my heart and want her to be happy, now she knows she can count on all of us fans (and we are many)

@Smile: Just because ur signed with HWR does not make u a Disney kid. Queen and Jesse Mccartney is signed under HWR and they’re not Disney kids. She’s signed with their label, but she no longer has a contract with them therefore, she is not under Disney’s wig anymore.

I suspected that Demi was bi-polar. I have a friend who was diagnosed with bi-polar a few years ago. Like Demi, she has an eating disorder (under control) and did some self-medicating (with liquor) to make her feel better. Now that she is under medication, she is truly happy with her life for the first time. I am so happy that Demi was diagnosed and can enjoy life and we can enjoy her talent!
Demi says she was bullied because she was a chubby kid so why oh why do they let her young sister get so overweight except that they are making money out of her!!!
