Exciting news for Selena Gomez and The Scene fans!
The 18-year-old actress/singer just posted the name of their third album on her Facebook.
Dropping on June 28th, fans will get to pick up Otherside, which features hit single “Who Says.”
“3rd album Otherside out June 28th, can’t wait for you to hear it,” Selena posted.
Leading up to the reveal of their junior album, Selena will be hosting the 2011 MMVA Awards in Toronto!

I like Selena and all, but I’m not sure about the album name. It seems boring. Otherside seems too generic. I’m not bashing her, it just needs to be different.
It’s different, nice but kinda simple. I’m totally inlove with it, but it could have been more …. i don’t know but this is definetlt something that describes her growing up, not girlish at all and I’m ok with it!

I really like Selena but I think she should take a break from music. She released 2 albums in less than 2 years and now she’s gearing up for a 3rd album. creativity takes time!

No offence, I respect Selena and everything…but does she really feel like she needs to release a new album every year? Like, seriously?
@Isabelle: Yeah I was thinking the same thing. She likes to rush her albums. If she wants to be successful with her music career, she should take time with her albums, like Taylor Swift who took 2 years working on Speak Now. She waited 2 yrs before releasing her 3rd album, and it turned out to be fantastic. That’s just my honest opinion.
Guys, the reason she’s releasing 3 albums in a span of 2 years is because of her contract with Hollywood Records. There is contract of three records for a specific time, if she doesnt release a new album she might not be able to release any album at all. It’s not her choice yknow, she’s bounded by the contract. And plus she’s leaving Disney, and Hollywood Records is a part of Disney, and she may be making a transition from teen music to more of a grown up music like Britney did, and for that she cannot stay in HR since HR music is clean and teen pop and stuff. Get it? Dont bash her for rushing into things!
@Joochi: Well that’s what you think and It’s completely wrong! Selena is an amazing singer and that’s a fact which you need to accept. It doesn’t matter if you like her or not… but no need to put hatred comments..

She told in an interview for the reason for this rush, it was that she first got ‘Who Says’ she heard and loved and wanted to release it as a single for us, and now you know why it meant so much to her. Then she got a Britney Spears song and a Katy Perry and a Pixie Lott one, so she recorded those songs and they sounded pretty nice so decided to make a complete album cause she already recorded like 6 songs…. And maybe ‘:]’ you’re right but this is what Selena told us and it completely makes sense :)
