The 20-year-old actress covers the current issue of EW and opens up to the mag about the parallel between her real life and her characters in The Hunger Games.
“He [director Gary Ross] was asking me what the experience was like and I just kind of opened up and said, ‘I feel like a rag doll. I have hair and makeup people coming to my house every day and putting me in new, uncomfortable, weird dresses and expensive shoes, and I just shut down and raise my arms up for them to get the dress on, and pout my lips when they need to put the lipstick on.’”
She continued, “And we both started laughing because that’s exactly what it’s like for Katniss in the Capitol. She was a girl who’s all of a sudden being introduced to fame. I know what that feels like to have all this flurry around you and feel like, ‘Oh, no, I don’t belong here.’”

Thank goodness they listened to us fans, and made her have brown hair. Although I get why they choose people based on their acting, appearence is VERY important to fans. She looks kind of like I’ve always pictured Katniss, I’m more positive now that she can pull it off :)

I was never keen on the idea of Jennifer as Katniss, but wow she looks exactly like how I imagined Katniss to be!

I pictured Katniss looking so much younger than that. Like Hailee Steinfeld. I don’t really care that much Jen makes a great Katniss too. I’m sure the movie will be good no matter what.
I had my doubts about Jen, but now…WOW. She looks exactly how I’ve pictured Katniss. Now I’m excited to see if they’ve done something with Josh…That should be interesting.

I knew Jennifer would be able to pull katniss off. it’s just josh as peeta that i’m highly skeptical of.
She looks a bit too old for me, but I’m sure her acting skills will definitely compensate for that. I’m really looking forward to seeing Hunger Games on the “big screen”.

I don’t really think she looks like Katniss. Idk who I’d picture instead, but I think she looks a little too old. I mean really; a 20 year old playing a 16 year old? That just seems unbalanced to me, but I’ll probably be proven wrong once the movie comes out.
I have to say she looks closer to what I pictured Katniss looking like then I thought she would. I sttill wish they would have want younger (I was a Hailliee supporter) but I think Jennifer’s great and this picture goes a long way towards easing some of my misgivings about this movie.
@natalie: are you serious?? The majority of “teenagers” in shows and movies are really in their 20s (some are even thirty; those lucky people)

Are people dumb? Of course they dyed her hair. What an actor looks like isn’t important anymore. Between CGI and make up, that can be fixed. It’s more important that she can act the part. People complaining about her natural hair color were so annoying. There’s this amazing invention called hair dye, folks.
Anyway, she looks great
just finished the books and can’t wait for the movie, she looks great. it really weird that she feels the same as Katniss, i think everybody would. about the age thing there are some people in 92010 that are in there 30′s so you can’t comment on that.
I’m looking forward to this movie because the books are good, its gonna be bigger then Twilight i’d say just because of Jennifer’s Talent and the cast they have.
