With The Hunger Games casting over with, we’re moving on to another young adult book turned movie with a huge fan base — The Mortal Instruments.
There are three players on the board — Leebo Freeman, Jamie Campbell Bower, and Ed Speleers — to star as Jace Wayland, Clary Fray’s (Lily Collins) love interest in the film adaption, The Wrap reports.
According to the books, Jace “has fine wavy gold blond hair and eyes that look gold in the light and have long eyelashes. He has a slim, muscular build, and is about 5’11″. His face is described as being pretty and angular, and Clary often refers to him as beautiful and leonine, with a narrow mouth. Like all other Shadowhunters, he is covered in thin, silver scars from years of applying various magical runes with a stele for battle and healing purposes, as well as permanent runes.”
Just looking at the three contenders — JJJ thinking Leebo looks most like the description. Thoughts? Let us know in the poll and comments below!

No offense none of these actors can play jace well probably(Jamie Campbell Bower int he acting thing),But personaly ¬__¬ i’m still Alex Pettyfer 4 jace!!!
I love these books and Jace, but I doubt any actor will be able to play him well. Yes he is 17, but his sarcasm is more like damon salvatore or house. I am kind of tired of every book that is even a little bit popular being made into a movie.

i personally suggest British Actor Freddie Stroma , he would be real good for the Role, Alex Petyfer aswell but he is total douche, doesnt deserve jobs after calling women ***** in a recent interview

I cant see any of these guys playing Jace, their all just…i dont know, they just arnt how I envisioned jace. Even though Alex Pettyfer is apparently not that great, he still totally fits the part, I could see him pulling it off.
Why is Benjamin Stone not in the mix?? he is perfect for Jace!!

I would honestly prefer Alex Pettyfer but if i had to choose from the 3,it would have to be Ed Speleers.
I’m sorry but when I read that description of Jace straight away without any thought, hesitation or doubt I think of Alex Pettyfer! So why isn’t he one of the contenders! Plus nearly everyone who has read the book want Alex Pettyfer as Jace! But if I have to pick out of the 3 contenders above then I would pick Ed Speleers!

why on Earth Alex Pettyfer is not in the mix… he is the favorite one for many people! Plus I agree with @Midz he is the one you picture when you read the book. Non of this actors look like Jace specially NOT LEEBO!

Ed would be the best pick of these three. The pickings here is pretty slim TBH. Worst choice would be the girly guy, Jamie. He’s not believable as Arthur in Camelot. He just can’t act.
Alex all the way. So what he needs an attitude adjustment off screen. He was fine in I am number four. I am so tired of these movies being made with people who don’t fit the part.One of the reasons that twilight works is the casting. No matter what you say about the movie Robert and Kristen both look like the characters in the book. From Roberts angular face to Kristen awkward ticks. Casting and chemistry is what makes a movie.
@lol: He was referring to the low life men in that interview actually. As he is British, not American, he knows a different culture. And people should take everything they read about Hollywood with a grain of salt anyway.
I LOVE both Ed and Jamie. In fact, I loved Ed for Peeta. But I gotta say, none of them fit Jace. Jace has this arrogant attitude which I can’t see any of them playing. Alex Pettyfer on the other hand… he’s got jace written all over him.
