As you could tell, Percy Jackson is a fave of JustJaredJr.com so we could not be more excited to hear this news — The Sea of Monsters just booked a director!
The L.A. Times reports that Thor Freudenthal, who directed Diary of a Wimpy Kid, will be the director for the second film in the franchise. Chris Columbus, who helmed the first film, will only be producing this time around.
And bonus, Logan Lerman is definitely, absolutely coming back as the title character.
“Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters” by Rick Riordan follows Percy as he and Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) head to the titular sea to find the mythical Golden Fleece, as well as to free Grover (Brandon T. Jackson) who has been captured there.
The film could be in theaters sometime in 2012. Anyone else as excited as we are?
