The 25-year-old actress stars as Georgia, a brash, confident Southern twenty-something, who arrives in New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a famous actress.

To make ends meet, she works various part-time jobs, accompanied (often through Georgia’s sheer will) by her best friend and roommate, Jo (Majandra Delfino). Cute but socially awkward, Jo has anxiety issues and lives for science. She, too, has ambitious dreams �” to get into the Physics department at a top-tier university.

State of Georgia premieres Wednesday, June 29 at 8:30PM ET/PT on ABC Family.
