Demi Lovato stands in the middle of a barren desert in her new music video for “Skyscraper.”
The 18-year-old star opened up to EOnline about what the video represents for her: “There were so many things that represented my addictions and eating disorders and self-harm. When I’m unraveling this black fabric…It was the toxicity took over my mind for so long, that oozed out of every pore that I had because I was suffering inside…I’m taking it off and walking on broken glass and powering through it.”
Demi continued, “That video was an emotional release for me, like therapy…I kept crying, I was so emotionally invested…That’s when I realized, that’s what music videos are all about.”

Amazing… LOVE Demi… such an inspiration
I thought this song was amazing and then I saw this video and it somehow managed to become even MORE powerful.

Demi should be proud of recognising her issues and coming out the other end relatively unscathed and becoming a better person.
I always thought she was a far better singers than most of the disney stars and I’m pretty glad she has now decided to distance herself from that and focus on her talents including music.
She’s obviously putting herself and her emotions out there and that’s what music is all about.
I also like the raw simplicity of the video, there’s far too many performers at the moment that rely on effects and glamour and this sets it apart.
Good on her.
You can really feel so much emotion in this, almost to the point where I can almost shed tears ): It takes a really good artist like Demi to effect people like this

she truly is an inspiration…she should be proud of herself…for everything she has struggled and its such a tough world out there for girls whether your 10 or 50..there is a constant battle not against others but against yourself…and for her to admit she has had problems to herself is truly inspirational and for her to take a stand and constantly speak out an let other girls voices be heard through her is amazing…and im so proud to be a fan of demi lovato…
and this song has constantly been on repeat its amazing and to say shes only 19 her voice is on par with the likes of beyonce and i wish her nothing but the best of luck for whatever battles she may face in the future…
