AJ Michalka: 'Salem Falls' Star!

AJ Michalka heads out for some pampering at a local spa on Friday afternoon in Calabasas, Calif.

Now we know just why the 20-year-old actress was toting around Jodi Picoult‘s “Salem Falls” novel the other day — she’ll be starring in the film adaption!

Posted on Jodi‘s Facebook account, AJ will play Gillian in the Lifetime adaption. “Salem Falls starts filming on August 10 in Canada for Lifetime. It’s starring James van der Beek (all grown up from Dawson’s Creek), Sarah Carter (from the TV show Falling Skies), and AJ Michalka (Lovely Bones, Secretariat) as Gillian. I’ve read the script and — yes — it FOLLOWS THE BOOK and is great!” she shared.

AJ tweeted, “I absolutely love Jodi Picoult. Can’t wait to bring her book to life! Xo AJ.”
