JJJ Book Club: Haley Ramm is Crazy for Classics

Haley Ramm knows the way into the JJJ Book Club — it’s through the classics!

The 19-year-old Skateland sweetie chatted with us about some of her favorite reads and told us just why we should read her absolute favorite novel. Check it:

On her favorite novel: “‘The Great Gatsby.’ For starters, it’s a classic! Secondly, it’s the ultimate story about money not buying happiness. Third, it’s set in the Roaring Twenties where people were obsessed with luxury. It’s a lot like today. People think that material objects equal happiness and when it all comes down to it, it doesn’t. It’s love that makes you feel whole.

On books hitting the big screen: “If they’re done well, I think it’s great! As the reader, you always have your own vision and the movies don’t always please everyone!”

On the books that bring her back to her childhood: “I loved reading Judy Blume books when I was young. Just like every other 12 year old girl, my favorite was ‘Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.’”

On judging the book by it’s cover: “Guilty! When I’m at the bookstore, I usually look for a book that has a cover that I’m drawn to. I only judge book covers, not people! :)”
