Kenton Duty may be shaking it up on Disney Channel but he still knows the importance of reading.
The 16-year-old actor caught up with the JJJ Book Club to promote literacy and revealed his faves. Check them out:
What is your favorite book and why?
“The Inheritance Cycle” by Christopher Paolini. It really gets you into the storyline. I have enjoyed how the author writes and follow the logic of his stories.
Why should everyone read it?
“The Inheritance Cycle” is a great book series that captures your interest from the first page of the first book, which is “Eragon.” Christopher was only 15 hen he started writing Eragon. So, that is very
encouraging to all of us!!
What’s the first book you remember reading?
“Oh, The Places You Will Go” by Dr. Seuss.
Do you judge the book by its cover?
No, if I am unfamiliar with a book or the author, I look at the book’s summary to determine if I will enjoy reading it.
How do you feel about all the books being made into movies?
I enjoy reading the books first, before I see the movie. I feel that reading a book allows me to be creative because I have to use my imagination to create the characters and scenes. Seeing a book come to life on the big screen allows me to see how the writers of the movie interpreted the characters, plots, scenes, and dialogue from the book.
