JJJ Book Club: Ashley Argota Gets Lost in 'Dreamland'

Ashley Argota may be heading to the east coast to hit more educational books, but the 18-year-old actress made a quick stop at the JJJ Book Club to participate in our National Book Week.

What is your favorite book?
“Dreamland” by Sarah Dessen.

Why should everyone read it?
It let’s girls know that when someone is treating you badly, you have to tell someone and speak up for yourself.

What’s the first book you remember reading?
“I Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch. I still have it. I go to the local elementary school every year and read that book to the kids in the lower grades.

Do you judge the book by its cover?
I do, actually! I know it’s such a bad thing to do. But if I see that a book cover looks tacky or weird, I normally don’t read it.

How do you feel about all the books being made into movies?
I think it’s okay. I feel like if they stick to the story in the books, then it’s great. That’s why I love the Harry Potter movies so much– they really stuck to what J.K Rowling wrote and didn’t change the entire story or just use “some” of it. I’m excited to see if the Hunger Games will turn out to be a good movie!!
