JJJ Book Club: 'Darkfever' Is Hitting The Big Screen

So we hear you’re looking for another good dark fantasy to read…JJJ Book Club has got you covered.

The “Darkfever” Series by Karen Marie Moning not only has all the elements of fantasy — supernatural creatures (seen or unseen), a little bit of magic, love, villians, weapons, a good setting — but it’s one of the most interesting.

The books (there are five in total) follow MacKayla Lane, an ordinary young woman from Georgia who travels to Ireland to track down her sister’s killer. While overseas, she discovers an extraordinary world filled with ancient secrets and tough-to-kill creatures.

With help from a mysterious man named Jericho, she’s tasked with finding the Sinsar Dubh, a powerful yet elusive book that can help her save both the fantasy realm and the mortal world.

And it looks like we could be seeing the books make the hop to the big screen, according to Variety.

DreamWorks has acquired feature film rights to all five books in the series — “Darkfever,” “Bloodfever,” “Faefever,” “Dreamfever,” and “Shadowfever.”

Warning: this isn’t a “teen” book. You should probably be over the age of 16 to read it.

To see these books on the big screen is a MUST! They are awesome and K. M. Moning a fantastic author. I’m so grateful that she had the idea and inspiration for this mystical and magical story. I love the Fever series and can really recommend them.
