Leighton Meester goes into detective mode as she’s chased by paparazzi for a scene in Gossip Girl in NYC on Wednesday afternoon (October 12).

The 25-year-old actress channeled the famed story detective with a mustard coat and Chanel bag.

Leighton recently chatted with Company UK mag about her laid back style. “When I lived in LA, I would go all-out with my make up, but since I’ve been working in New York I’m more relaxed. In fact, I barely wear any and don’t really do my hair. It’s partly the NY vibe and partly about growing up.”

She added, “I think it’s more chic to be natural.”
