Brenda Song picks up a few things as she runs errands in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon (October 24).

The 24-year-old newly engaged actress caught up with JJJ recently and told us all about her love for the written word.

“I’m someone who, every time I open a book, will be either crying or laughing. Sometimes my mom will come in and ask me if I’m okay, because I was a psychology major in college and concentrated in criminal psychology so I would read a lot about these crazy criminals and everything. I’d run downstairs and I’d run into my mom and she’d automatically know what I’d be reading,” she shared.

Brenda continued, “I think for books — like we’d have a conversation or I’d be having a hard day and you can just escape my own reality for 15 minutes just by reading a chapter.”
