OlderSaoirse Ronan: 'The Host' Starts Recruiting Jared & Ian
Saoirse Ronan has a ton of hot, young Hollywood actors lining up to earn her love for The Host.
Variety reports that the studio behind the flick is on the search for the two main guys in Melanie’s life — Jared, her boyfriend and Ian.
Up for Jared: Liam Hemsworth, Kit Harington, Jai Courtney and Max Irons, while Dane DeHaan, Thomas McDonnell, Augustus Prew and Jake Abel are dukeing it out for Ian, a “menacing young man who brutalizes Wanderer before falling in love with her.”
The Host summary: Melanie Stryder (Ronan) is one of the last humans putting up a fight against an alien species called Souls. These parasites invade human bodies, fuse to each person’s consciousness and systematically erase their personalities.

Please, a guy who really act, that is not just a pretty face.
I would love to see Jensen Ackles and Sophia Bush in this movie! The chemistry would be insane!!!! Anyone agree with me?!?!?
No Liam but I do like the guy from Game of Thrones and Jake Abel. Acting please don’t ruin this series too.
I honestly didn’t picture Saiorse as Melanie, since Melanie has tanned skinned and has brown hair. But I guess she’ll do an amazing job as always.
I hope they cast a good actor as Jared, like Jessica said.
I know it might sound strange but i picture Ian Somerhalder as Ian and Nina Dobrev as Melanie. I don’t know about Jared someone like Jared padalecki.
It’s refreshing to see other comments pointing out the importance of acting chops over a pretty face. Phew! I thought I was the only one thinking such a crazy thing.
I liked Jensen Ackles and Ian Somherhalder.
Jensen for Jared, and ian for ian. but they might be a little older than they are looking for.

Never read the book though, just feeling those two as good actors x))
This should be extremely interesting! I love that Ronan got the part of Melanie. She’s such an adaptable actress that you believe in any character she portrays, it’s kinda hard to take your eyes off her whenever she’s onscreen she has such an extraordinary presence.
It can’t come soon enough!
