Shailene Woodley: I'm Ready For More Mature Roles

Shailene Woodley posed alongside the famous Oscar statue as she attends the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 3rd annual Governors Awards at Hollywood & Highland Center on Saturday evening (November 12) in Hollywood, Calif.

The 19-year-old actress looked charming in a silver sheer layered chiffon sleeveless dress by Katharine Kidd.

Shai was named Variety‘s 2011 10 Actors To Watch and dished about her future career plans.

“I’m almost out of my teens,” she said, “so I feel ready to move on to more mature roles. Making ‘The Descendants’ gave me a great start.”

Shailene also credits her lucky break to her family, saying, “Honestly, my big break was being born to my family. I started when I was 5 and my mom drove me to auditions, not because she pushed me but because I wanted to do this.”
