Dakota Fanning wears a new Victorian dress while out filming Effie in Venice, Italy, on Sunday afternoon (December 4).

The 17-year-old actress plays the title character in Emma Thompson‘s script.

Effie tells the story of Effie Gray and her critic husband John Ruskin. Effie left John without the marriage being consummated, and after the annulment, married his protégé, John Everett Millais.

Her story has inspired many plays and even an opera. Keira Knightley will also be portraying Effie in the upcoming Untouched.
