JJJ Book Club's December Pick: 'The Probability of Miracles' by Wendy Wunder

JJJ Book Club's December Pick: 'The Probability of Miracles' by Wendy Wunder

Aren’t you just drawn into that pink cover?!

The JJJ Book Club was too, and it’s partly why Wendy Wunder‘s debut novel, “The Probability of Miracles” is this month’s top pick.

Within the pages of the book, you’ll meet 16-year-old Cam Cooper, who’s spent the last seven years in and out of hospitals and basically given up on medicine to help her live longer than expected.

Then, she moves to Promise, Maine – a place known for the miraculous events that occur there and there’s strange things happen there — everlasting sunsets; purple dandelions; flamingoes in the frigid Atlantic; an elusive boy named Asher; and finally, a mysterious envelope containing a list of things for Cam to do before she dies.

As Cam checks each item off the list, she finally learns to believe – in love, in herself, and even in miracles.

WHY YOU SHOULD READ IT: As we type up this pick, we’ve just started the book ourselves. But what we can tell you — it’s smart, it’s heartbreaking and it’s real. The book is out on shelves NOW, and you should definitely pick a copy up.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: “Illuminated” by Erica Orloff, “Planesrunner” by Ian McDonald, “Witch & Wizard: The Fire” by James Patterson and Jill Dembowski and “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens.
