Shailene Woodley Makes an Indie Impact

Shailene Woodley walks the green grass carpet at Variety‘s Indie Impact Award & 10 Directors To Watch Brunch presented by Mercedes-Benz during the 212 Palm Springs Film Festival held at Parker Resorts in Palm Springs, Calif.

The 20-year-old actress was seen out just the night before honoring costar George Clooney at the awards gala.

Shailene recently talked with the Sydney Morning Herald about portraying darker characters, “I’m such a happy, optimistic person that some people get annoyed. But … I must have a really dark alter ego, because, growing up, I was always getting cast as the murderer on CSI or the little girl who pushed her mum off the balcony on Without a Trace. Subconsciously, I think my body needs to get out the darkness.”
